One of the roles I have enjoyed in my career has been an HR Partner to the business as well as a consultant to HR leaders and the business in the DEI space. As I reflected on yesterday’s conversation with a panel of amazing Latinas at Netflix in HR, I couldn’t stop nodding my head on all the feedback and real talk discussions on how our roles are so instrumental to the business, it’s leaders & it’s people. Data, data, data is such a key and integral part of how we partner with the business and it’s leaders to help bring change whether it is through employee engagement, recognition, attrition, promotions, hires and much more. In addition, creating action plans to drive change, but it cannot happen without accountability, which is normally the most difficult yet not impossible task.I’ve partnered with some amazing leaders all across the country as well as EMEA, UK and MX who understand and prioritize positive growth when it comes to hiring and retention. I cannot tell you how many times my heart screams with joy when I have received emails or calls, sharing the great news from employees who have been given a new project, promotion, lateral role, etc. The intentional partnership and strong relationships that I have created over the years has made a huge difference in driving positive results.As I continue to evolve in my career within the HR space, I will keep the following nuggets shared by our panelist is mind: showcase confidence and courage, be strategic and continuously have a business mindset, advocate for employees, impact the community in a positive way (this is close to my heart as I partnered with some amazing ERG leaders at Tesla to drive change), and finally continue to bring my unique self.“The greatest success we’ll know is helping others succeed and grow” C.S.
